A very interesting and complex topic that you explained very well! I enjoyed the ideas you presented and the music and sound effets throughout. Your voice was very soothing, and suited the tone perfectly.

I find this topic extremely interesting, and you did a great job at discussing it. Morality is one of the most fluid powers over mankind, and can cause men to take wild actions without any prompt or reward for doing so. I have read through the writings of Ayn Rand, and She made it clear that morality, because it is subjective, is ultimately a burden on the achievement of man. It restricts our drive for success, and makes us make sacrifices or take extreme actions in the name of what is “right’ and “wrong.” Rand believed that the ideal motivator for man should not be an ultimately subjective moral code, but rather a personal code based on objective reason. By removing obligations of “moral” code, man is able to make decisions based on value, and works to serve themselves above others. This code of reason allows man to pursue achievement through what is objectively true rather than what is told to them as right. If mankind were able to adopt this motivator, this mindset, then we would be able to achieve to the most of our individual abilities, and wrongdoings will be punished by the realities of the world, not by fluid morals.

I thought this podcast was really good! I often thing about how morals shape our lives, and I agree with how everyone has different morals, but that doesn’t make you right or them.
Adam Ewing • Oct 29, 2020 at 8:40 am
This was an excellent podcast. A deeper dive into the concepts of morals and their impact and role in society than I’ve ever thought was possible. Very good anecdote for the hook, and an overall superb analysis.

I did not expect this episode to start with an absolutely horrible and graphic tale of a serial killer’s murderings. I think that was an amazing shock and awe to lead into the meat of the podcasts. The pronunciation and the way you say the words are very engaging. The subject of this episode is something I had not really thought about however it is a very interesting topic to discuss with others.

This podcast is the best work on B.S.E.C. I’ve heard so far, both in terms of production and delivery. The scene at the start of the episode grabbed my attention right away. The use of sound effects to punctuate the story and the perfect descriptions of the scene left me feeling like I was watching a movie in my mind’s eye. Well done!
Jack Muniz • Aug 13, 2020 at 10:29 pm

This podcast episode is a perfect combination of captivating in terms of both content and audio production. Your knowledge on the topic is very informational but just the right amount so that the average person can still understand and enjoy it. Moreso, your voice and the very subtle sound bed underneath allow for easy and smooth listening while still being entertaining. It’s a very good episode.
hassaan • Apr 2, 2020 at 11:54 pm
This was well planned out and you can tell that you knew what you were talking about. Also liked the musicbed in the back.
Wil Courtney • Apr 2, 2020 at 2:08 pm
The sound design on Maylee’s work is astounding, with research you can’t get anywhere else. She goes in depth on the unthinkable mind of one who has done actions that a majority of the population could not even fathom, and then some. Podcasts like these definitely support why she’s an award winning podcaster and soon to be fantastic podcast manager.
Cole Hohne • Apr 2, 2020 at 12:46 pm
The production was immaculate. The voice inflections and overall tone was calm and easy to listen to. Good job!

Maddie Alexander • Apr 2, 2020 at 2:35 am
I really like your opening. It is immediately engaging and the overall break-down of the subject matter is very well done. You do a good job of using a specific example and relating it to a much broader, and very relevant topic. The production work is also very well done and doesn’t overpower the voice. Great job!
Skylar Medlin • Apr 1, 2020 at 9:26 pm
I really liked this podcast. People really overlook how their morals effect others, and people don’t ask ‘Why do i believe this?’ or ‘Is this mt own thought, and not something I was raised on?’
Claudia • Apr 1, 2020 at 5:58 pm
I think that this is very well produced. One can tell you are knowledgeable about this story with the details you give. You also break it down so everyone can understand it. Your voice is very clear and your tone can tell that your interested and want others to be interested in this story too. I also like how the bed stops at some times and it’s not the same all the way throughout. Overall this is very well done!!
Chris Elmore • Apr 1, 2020 at 3:41 pm
I thought it was very well thought out and well planned. It certainly is unique in it’s break down of these deep subjects. It’s more intellectual than a lot of high school radio broadcasts and podcasts. Great job!
Caleb McCormick • Apr 1, 2020 at 2:03 pm

Alex Ferrell • Apr 1, 2020 at 1:42 pm
This is a very well done and well prepared and researched podcast. It is set-up in a way that is easy to interpret what they are saying in the subject matter and what is being stated.
Luke • Apr 1, 2020 at 11:59 am
Grabbed my attention at the beginning and held it the whole time. Great use of SFX!
Riley Choe • Apr 1, 2020 at 10:58 am
Awesome beginning with amazing story and the soundscape is amazing with good music and natural sounds. The overall podcast topic is well researched and inflects lots of questions which is just what the podcast wants!

Horrifying, really good but disturbing imagery and storytelling in this podcast, but also great reflections on the topic.
Riley Dugan • Mar 31, 2020 at 6:36 pm
Woah…this was absolutely amazing! Everything from the intro at the beginning with various sound effects that really gave it atmosphere to the music throughout the podcast that gave it a nice flow and of course the beautifully written and well thought out script made this podcast super enjoyable. But most importantly, your voice and personality really drove the entire thing! I really love your topic and I can’t wait to hear more!
Heather Freedman • Mar 31, 2020 at 2:03 pm
I really enjoyed listening to this podcast. I was doing other work while listening at the same time, but the script was engaging and her voice was soothing and easy to listen to. I like how she incoroporated retorical questions to include the listener in her brain processesing, and the sound effects really puts the listener in a spot where they feel like they’re there at the scene of the incident. It sounds like she put an immense amount of research into this podcast and it definitely benefited her performance greatly.
Andy Jia • Mar 31, 2020 at 12:50 pm
I like the beginning sound effect, it gives me very relax feeling at beginning. The sound effect perfect match the word and sentence your say. Just the right time to cut into the music bed. Your voice and the speed of your speech and emotion perfectly combined this music bed. When I listened to this podcast, I felt very relaxed, but soon this podcast was over.
Eve Elliott • Mar 31, 2020 at 12:45 pm
I really like the music beds that you chose, and your voice is very clear and steady. You also make the information really easy to understand.
Lauren Jacobson • Mar 31, 2020 at 11:08 am
The hook was very attention-getting. Your vocabulary was very intelligent and interesting. I like how you react to the topics by asking questions, which leads to the listeners thinking more about your piece. You also use words such as “we” to engage the listeners. Very well done!
Karl T. • Mar 30, 2020 at 1:06 pm
All in all, this podcast was extremely interesting to listen to! The tranquil music in the background very much fit the chill, quiet vocal delivery. Concepts brought up such as emotivism and also cognitivism suit the peaceful vibe of the podcast as well. Overall, the flow of the podcast was extremely smooth moving from topic to topic.
Sam • Mar 30, 2020 at 9:10 am
I’m having an existential crisis. This is a really fascinating and complex dive into morality that made me think about the topic way more and differently than I had before. Kudos to O’Brien for doing the research and for great editing and delivery on this.
jess cooper • Mar 30, 2020 at 9:08 am
I remember Maylee being an IASB winner and I wanted to listen to her podcast. She has an incredible tone while speaking, and carries herself on the topic very well. She does not sound like she’s reading from a script, and the music bed lays very nicely in the background. Good editing, good tone, and a great podcast. Great job Maylee!!!
