On Friday, September 11th, the Carmel Greyhounds hosted the Pike Red Devils in a thrilling double overtime battle! The Hounds walked into the game on a 1-2 losing streak while the Pike Red Devils were 2-1. It was Senior night for the Hounds, making them even more determined to get the win. Pike started off strong, scoring a touchdown by Derrius Williams within the first four minutes of the 1st quarter. However, Carmel answered right back with a Colton Parker touchdown tying the score to 7-7. With an edge, Carmel continued with a strong offensive and took the lead in the 2nd quarter with a score 14-7 with a Daniel Mullins touchdown. Pike could only answer with a field goal. Right before the end of the first half, Carmel scored again going into the locker room with a score of 21-10.

The Greyhounds came out of the half hot scoring a touchdown and a field goal within the third quarter, only allowing the Red Devils to score a touchdown. Going into the fourth quarter was when it became the Red Devils show. After being down 15 points, the Red Devils came back and tied the Greyhounds 31-31 with 5 minutes to go in the fourth. With both teams being unsuccessful at scoring within the last few minutes, the game was headed into overtime. Pike started with the ball, and within their first drive scored a touchdown! But, the Greyhounds connected with Baron Smith to tie the game for double overtime! With the Greyhounds receiving the ball first, Zach Osborne found Nick Bidel for a 7 yard touchdown! It was up to the Red Devils now to tie the game. However, with a failed two point conversion after scoring a touchdown, Carmel won the game 45-44!
