October – Bullying Prevention Awareness Month
October Awareness Month
October 1, 2020
This October is National Bullying Prevention Month, and WHJE is doing our job to shed some light on the topic.
WHJE is a student-run radio station. We are required to come to school every day, and we are lucky to be able to come in and work with such great people and make some amazing memories.
Although, despite us being a close-knit community, everyone still has their own battles. We still are in high school, and things still go on in the halls, classroom, parking lots, and even online.
Sometimes, we come to school to inevitably be picked on, made fun of, and overall un-accepted by peers. Bullying is intentional behavior that hurts, harms, or humiliates a person, either physically or emotionally, and can happen while at school, in the community, or online. It is something that you will come upon frequently in a lifetime.
One in five students report being bullied in school. Many more report seeing bullying occur, but never do anything to stop it. WHJE will not stand for this.
Be kind to all, and know that if you are being bullied or know a person being bullied, it’s not your fault, and there are ways to stop it.

With love,
WHJE Staff.
