In The Club! Monday Edition

There are over 130 before and after-school Clubs here at CHS. There are so many that not many get the moment in the spotlight they deserve. So here at In The Club! I am dedicated to focusing on the several, several clubs at CHS. Starting today with The Tedx Club. President Annabelle Carpenter had this to say about her club, “I was able to watch my dad produce over fifty Ted events and I wanted to…continue on that legacy.” Carpenter further stated on the goals of her club, “we work all year long to prepare a Ted even from picking themes, all the way to finding different speakers to give talks at our event… we really want members of the community to come and watch.”

In the Game Development Club, former president Seth Eaton says that he started the club with his friends. “We asked Mr. Goodman after I found a couple of my friends, and we all decided we wanted to pursue game development. We wanted to be a place where people can find each other… and work together to create games.” Upon being asked which games he has already made, Eaton responded with this, “One thats been frequented on all the school computers in Volley… and various small games that have been made by the club.” Eaton plans on pursuing Game Development in his future as a programmer.

Zachary Peterson of the Swing Dance club ended up running the club by being a member since freshman year. “You don’t have to be in any performing arts to be apart of the club… you can join in knowing absolutely nothing.” Swing dance is based off of various 1920’s jazz and swing music of the time, Peterson wants to bring that style back to modern times as, “It is such a timeless and unique style of dance.”
