Here at WHJE we love Halloween. Kids running up and down the streets in costumes getting candy! The pandemics Trunk or Treat is over. So this will be a lot of kids first Trick or Treat. Here is WHJE’s best words of advice for all those who walk the streets this week.
- Make sure someone knows where you are. – If you are out trick or treating until the sun comes up, make sure that a parent or guardian knows where you are. In Carmel, Westfield and Fishers, trick or treating ends at 8:00pm. If you live in Zionsville, Franklin and Brownsburg, trick or treats end at 8:30. Be safe and stay within the curfew.
- Avoid using masks that obscure your eyesight- If you’re a parent or guardian and your child is wearing a mask this year. Try on the mask and make sure your child can see properly.
- Go to the rich neighborhoods.- Nobody likes those, “Fun Sized” candy bars. You know, the ones that are about the size of your thumb. Ella McElroy quotes, “If you trick or treat in a richer neighborhood… King sized candy bars will be your reward.”
- Use an old pillowcase as a candy bag.- One of my worst memories is having a full bag of candy before the night really even began. Go to your laundry room and ask to use an old pillowcase to store your candy. Those bad boys hold the most candy!
From all of us here at WHJE we wish you all a very Happy Halloween!!!
