Here at WHJE, we’ve been struggling through this recent cold spike just like everyone else. So I went all around asking WHJE Students what they thought about this recent cold weather. Ella McElroy had this to say, “At first when were still having a warm winter, I was like, ‘I wish this winter would start wintering.’ and then this past week happened and this is the worst ever.” I then asked her about how this snow has affected the roads and she stated. “I hate it, it takes my car forever to warm up.” Because we live in Indiana we get extreme temperatures all the time. From the high humidity and heat of August and more recently the freezing wind chills of January. I then asked whether she prefers extreme cold to the extreme heat she proclaimed that. “I would probably still take the extreme heat.
Asher Harris was up next and he had a much different philosophy about the cold weather. I asked how he deals with the cold weather. “I just try to get through it, I bring gloves and a heavy jacket and I’m good.” When asked about our warm December in comparison to our frigid January he had this to say. “I think its really annoying… but you gotta take what you got.” Asher had this to say about beating the cold. “I just like curling up with a nice blanket and hot chocolate.”
In my own personal experiences I much prefer the cold weather to the heat. When you have cold weather you can keep on layering clothes, but when it is too hot you can only put on a t-shirt and shorts.
I hope all of y’all are keeping warm inside your houses and cars and staying safe on those roads!
