It’s August, which means it’s a new school year here at Carmel High School. This week we at WHJE welcomed in a new group of staff, filled with varying skills all with the ability to create amazing work, to help continue the legacy previous decades of students created here.
However, our staff isn’t the only new addition; the station has been undergoing renovations all with the intention of upgrading the quality of work. Over the next six weeks, the station and studios will have been gutted and made anew. The current state of the studio has slimmed down the size of our facilities, moving our Live Studio into a small recording booth, and creating a new method of working in the studio. The soon to be fully renovated rooms are the live studio, the recording booths, the podcast booth, and the news room.
When asked about the state of the station, Dominic James, Head Station Manager, gave the following statement, “We are very excited about the renovations taking place. Although it’s frustrating that we can’t use the equipment yet; we still have the functionality needed to keep going, and hopefully within the next six weeks we will be working with equipment most colleges and high schools will be envious of.”
Further updates are to come as the project progresses, and we will be sure to let you all know. Stay up to date with all things WHJE here as well as on our Instagram: @WHJE_radio
