In this week’s episode of Sample City, Chloe and Franklin discuss Taylor Swift’s pop perfection album “1989”. They discuss her relationship with Kendrick Lamar, her sampling her own songs, on top of her inspirations such as Stevie Nicks and Paul McCartney!
Sample City – Taylor Swift – November 19th
Franklin Vrtis is an award-winning senior at Carmel High School and one of the Live Show managers. He also does the live shows Sample City and Now and Then with his favorite co-host, Chloe Jones. When he’s not doing radio, Franklin works on his card game business, which can be found at visionmonster.com or @visionmonstergames on Instagram. He also is the founder of the Board Game Design Club at Carmel High School. After high school, Franklin plans to either continue with his business or go to a university for digital illustration and graphic design.

Chloe Jones is a fourth-year radio personnel at WHJE and is the Events Manager for the 25-26 school year! On top of being a National Award Winner for her contributions during Carmel’s annual Ghost and Goblins Run, she has two live shows with her best friend and co-host, Franklin Vrtis! Sample City demonstrates her deep love for music, and Now and Then shows her obsession with pop culture. She’s also dabbled in the sports department, being a board opp basketball games and broadcasting volleyball.
Outside of WHJE, Chloe enjoys collecting vinyls, going to the gym, and watching sitcoms! She’s extremely excited for her senior year and her opportunity to get the station involved with events throughout Carmel! Stay tuned to hear what she does with her senior year!!

1989 was the first Taylor Swift album I listened too and I wasn’t a Swiftie at the time but I knew over half of the songs on that album at just 5 years old. It definately is an amazing album and a big leap in Taylor’s career.

1989 is such an amazing album that is inspired by so many people, definitely one of her strongest and most popular albums. Great music show guys.
