Artist: Alt-J

The English indie/alternative trio Alt-J got their start in 2007. Since then, they have released two albums including An Awesome Wave, and This is All Yours. The group utilizes emotional experiences, historical events, and symbols to establish a complex lyrical basis for each other their songs. Through their mashing of different genres such as electronic, indie, guitar-based music, the band has created a distinct and unique sound for themselves that is appealing to a wide variety of listeners.


Artist: Fitz and the Tantrums

The next up and coming alternative band is Fitz and the Tantrums. Their newest album, More Than Just a Dream, came out May 7th, 3013; and has had many hits since then. This is a music review over the More Than Just a Dream Album, by Fitz and the Tantrums.

Artist: Fauve

Fauve is a French collective founded and based in Paris. Their second album, Vieux Frères – Partie 2 was released in February of 2015. Its autobiographical nature provides a continuation of the lives of the members of Fauve through spoken word and limited musical style. Although the album is completely in French, the emotions conveyed through music and tone make it beautiful and relatable to all listeners.

Artist: Levon’s Helmet

Levon’s Helmet is a pop rock group out of Portland, Oregon, and just released their newest album, Have The Best Day, in February of 2015. There is a good mix of serious messages and humorous themes throughout the album, which allows it appeal to many different audiences.
