The Bulldogs answer with a big goal line stand. They have the ball on their own 1 yard line with 7 minutes to go in the 1st quarter. But, after another big play, the Carmel D were able to get on the board first with a safety! The Greyhounds took a 2-0 lead with a safety early on in this Sectional Championship game. With the Carmel O coming back on the field, they were able to score! Zach Osborne found Daniel Mullins over the middle on a 69 yard catch and run in the endzone! The Hounds lead the Bulldogs 9-0! Shortly after, there was a bizarre play on a punt for the Bulldogs. The snap flew out of the back of the end zone for another Carmel Greyhound safety! This might be the first time you’ve ever seen it, but the score was 11-0 in favor of the Greyhounds!
As the second quarter began, the Hounds continued their scoring drives! This time it’s Zach White on the ground from 3 yards out. The Hounds were ahead of the Bulldogs 18-0! At half, the Carmel Greyhounds lead the Brownsburg Bulldogs with a score of 18-7!
Coming out of the locker room, both teams were ready to resume battle. After a pair of three and outs for both teams, Brownsburg would fumble on their next drive! The 3rd Bulldog fumble of the night sets up the Greyhounds and Lleyton Lukowski, who checked in at quarterback, with some great field position. This allowed the Hounds to extend their lead to 21-7 thanks to a Spencer Hanna field goal to close the third
At the start of the fourth, the Greyhound D continued to show no mercy against the Bulldogs! Both Owen Schafer and Tamaris Springfield forced interceptions to obtain the win for the Hounds! The final score would be 21-7!
