An adapted drama of Mary Howitt’s poem ‘The Spider and the Fly.’ Inspired by the illustrations of Tony DiTerlizzi, adapted for radio by Sam Falkenstein and MJ Martell.
The Spider and The Fly

Sam is a fourth-year member of WHJE and the station’s Music Manager. In past years, she hosted Back to the Feature alongside Lynn Perrin. This year, she’s the host for The Final Chapter, a show where she interviews fellow Seniors to share meaningful songs and stories and reflect on the Senior experience. Outside of the station, Sam is one of the co-Presidents of the CHS Banned Books Club, an NHS member, and a GKOM. She enjoys obsessively updating her Letterboxd, writing short stories, and trying out hobbies she’s no good at.

Ollie Chesterfield is a senior and fourth year here at WHJE, and is super excited to be the co host of RPG show Turn-Based with Parsa Mahmoudi! Their past works include Talkie Talks. Outside of radio, Ollie works at an ice cream shop, enjoys listening to music, and plays many video games while not being good at any of them.

As a senior in high school and a fourth-year radio student, MJ Martell is thrilled to be one of the three live show managers at WHJE for the 25-26 academic school year. For WHJE, MJ is the host of two different live shows. One of them is The Serial Rundown, where they give you a rundown on important news stories from the past week, and The Ludicrously Improvised Vocal Entertainment Show, a show where a wide variety of people come onto the station and play improv games live for everyone to hear. When not at WHJE, MJ enjoys playing video games for Carmel High School’s Esports team, beating their friends in Mario Kart, and watching movies. MJ is so excited to have a management position at the station, and cannot wait to see what fantastic things the staff members at WHJE will get up to this year!
