Over halfway through the 2025 Fall Season, Carmel’s Varsity Girls Soccer team is a top 5 team in the entire country.
According to MaxPreps, the Greyhounds are ranked 3rd in the State of Indiana and 4th in the entire nation for Girls Soccer. The Greyhounds are 9-2 on the season, and over the last five games, the Greyhounds have outscored their opponents 20-0, including a 4-0 victory against a top 20 Center Grove team. This comes after a loss to Cathedral on August 30th in a penalty shootout as part of the Carmel Invitational Tournament.
I got the chance to sit down with Junior Carmel Defender Harper Greenwald, and when asked what happened after that game, Greenwald told me, “we definitely worked harder as a team to improve our shooting accuracy”.
Despite this impressive five game stretch, Carmel has many difficult opponents still ahead, including a 3 hour drive this Saturday to face Castle at 1:30 P.M. In terms of adjusting for the 3 hour drive, Greenwald commented that “we’re going to have to have a good warmup since we’re going to be pretty rusty since we’ve just been sitting for 3 hours, so if we get a good warmup in I think we should be good.”
Besides Castle, Carmel finishes the season playing a top 20 nationally ranked Noblesville team and a top 10 nationally ranked team in the Westfield Shamrocks in the last game of the regular season. In terms of being able to finish the season strong, Greenwald stated “we’ve been practicing really good lately and our team chemistry is just there, so if we keep doing good in practices, games, and hyping each other up, I think we should end the season strong.”
So far this season, Senior Forward Adalyn Cameron has consistently found the back of the net with 20 goals on the season. Senior Emma Ehret has also chipped in 7 goals for the Greyhounds. Defensively, Freshman Goalie Gwyneth Provost has racked up 19 saves while only allowing 3 goals, which all came against the #1 team in the nation, Hamilton Southeastern.
