Dave Blase is a cyclist who was on the 1962 IU Little 500 team. He wasn’t very confident in himself, and he hadn’t really found his talent before he began cycling. At IU, Dave Blase was introduced to cycling, and he discovered that he was actually really good at it. His story was the inspiration for the movie, “Breaking Away, ” which came out in 1979. I sat down with Dave Blase and talked with him about his story and how cycling has changed his life.
