Welcome to Motivational Minute with Riley! The topic of this episode is consumerism. Thoughts and opinions from Riley. As always, Motivational Minute is separated into three segments. Segment one focused on Nia Berkeley’s article “Do You Love Yourself Or Is It Just Consumerism?” relating modern-day consumerism to “self-care”. Segment two consisted of an interview with Carmel High School AP Macroeconomics teacher Michelle Foutz, who gave professional insight into economics and consumerism. Finally, in segment three, host Riley Alderman gave her unprofessional opinion on everything from consumerism in the media to its projected development with the emergence of influences. This episode was sprinkled with consumer-related classics like “ Spend It” by Summer Walker and “ Common People” by Pulp. Unfortunately the stations logger was down during this episode, but don’t miss future live broadcasts on 91.3 WHJE Carmel, airing Mondays at 7:45 a.m. ET.
