With Lacrosse wrapping up here in the next couple weeks, the Boys Varsity team has been nothing short of dominant. The Hounds have been putting up more than enough goals to pull away with wins. From the beginning of the season till midway through April, the team was undefeated with a 10-0 record going into possibly their biggest competition they would play this
season. The St. Xavier Bombers from Ohio came to Murray Stadium undefeated and had to battle with Carmel, but Carmel fell short 6-10, giving them their first loss of the season.
A few days later the team stayed at home and took on Olentangy Liberty in a dog fight. Max McCord opened up the scoring for the hounds, but the lead didn’t last long as it was back and forth all game long with the hounds pulling away with a 8-7 win, advancing their record to 11-1.
On the JV side, the team has been struggling to find wins, they are currently 5-6-1 with unexpected losses to Zionsville, Guerin, and Culver. After spring break, the hounds started off strong with a 10-5 win to Center Grove. A few days later, the Hounds tied the Zionsville Eagles at 11 at the end of regulation. The team then played the St. Xavier Bombers from Ohio and took a devastating loss, 3-11.
A week later the team played Culver Academy and took a commanding lead early into the first half, by the end of the game the hounds continued to battle winning the game 12-2. They then went on to lose two games back to back against Guerin Catholic and Culver Academy this past week. Guerin Catholic came to Murray to battle, and it showed as the hounds struggled to keep it close, with a final score of 7-8. The Hounds traveled to Culver to try and take home another win, but according to Attackman #17 Joon Yang, “we didn’t have the communication we have had in past games, and that was one of the factors to the loss,” the
team ended up losing 8-11.
The teams will hit the roads tonight and take on their state rivals the Hamilton Southeastern Royals starting with the JV team at 6pm and Varsity following after at 8pm.
