With Lacrosse in full swing, the Boys Varsity team has been nothing short of dominant. The Hounds have been putting up double-digit goals in every game, leading to an impressive 7-0 record. One of their biggest challenges came out with a win against their rival, Westfield, where they cruised to a 23-2 victory in the annual Jack Meachum Classic.
A few days later the team traveled to Crown Point, Indiana and kept their winning streak alive with another commanding victory over the dogs 23-5 on the bulldogs home turf. On March 30th, the hounds returned to Murray to face Wheaton Academy, who made a three-hour trip only to fall short of the hounds 18-5.
On the JV side, the team has been progressing steadily with a 3–2 record. Their most recent matchup was their rivalry game against Westfield, where they secured a 8–3 win. The game highlighted strong teamwork and growing chemistry among the players. The JV Hounds were scheduled to travel to Crown Point as well, but the game was unfortunately canceled due to weather conditions.
Both teams traveled to Guerin Catholic, with Captain EB Warren opening up the scoring for the hounds and Ike Stitle getting two back to back tallies to get a grand total of 46 pts this season. Luke Shrift playing against his former team gets two back to back tallies upping his total to 27 pts, helping the hounds secure a 17-4 advancing their record to an outstanding 8-0. Unfortunetly, the JV team didn’t do as good as they hoped and it showed by the final score of a 12-6 loss, moving their
record to 3-3 on the year.
On April 11th both teams will be back a Murray Stadium to take on Center Grove in what should be an exciting game, if you are unable to make it, tune into 91.3 WHJE for live coverage.
