This past weekend, WHJE took a trip east to New York City to bring home some National Awards from the Intercollegiate Broadcasting Systems Conference. As the trip was winding down, disaster struck. A blizzard warning on Sunday and Monday cancelled WHJE’s flight back home, leaving them stranded in NYC. 

With the final regular-season Boys Varsity Basketball game on Tuesday night and WHJE’s flights not rescheduled until later that same night, the boys crew quickly realized they wouldn’t be able to make it. With the seniors stuck in New York its time for the juniors and sophomores to step up, just weeks away from their meetings to become the managers for next year. 

Tune in Tuesday night to listen to the final regular-season boys basketball game as the team takes on Crispus Attucks at Home. On the call will be Ben Kontarzhy (Play-By-Play), Simon Kahn (Color), Connell McDonough, Jackson Shephard, and Oscar Joseph (Hosts). 

Stay tuned for updates on WHJE’s adventures in New York, and get excited for the Boys Basketball Sectionals, with the draw just last night. Your Carmel Greyhounds drew one of the two byes, so they will either face Zionsville or Noblesville en route to the sectional championship.
