On Friday, September 25th, the Carmel Greyhounds (3-2) traveled to North Central to take on the Panthers (4-1)! After last week, the Hounds were looking to maintain their second place standing in the M.I.C. The game began with an early lead for the Hounds as the mighty Spencer Hanna’s field goal was good. After the back and forth battle, the first quarter ended with Carmel leading North Central by a score of 3-0.

As the second quarter began, the Hounds began to heat up. The Carmel QB Zach Osborne completed his pass to Jaedon King for the touchdown! The score was now 10-0. However, the Panthers had an answer. Theran Johnson had a 44 yard touchdown run to put North Central on the board! As halftime approached, Zach Osborne kept it on a sneak and rushed 5 yards into the endzone! With the Hounds up 17-7, the Panthers had to score before half to stay in the game. The answer to this Theran Johnson yet again. Johnson’s touchdown allowed North Central to creep closer to Carmel. At halftime, the Carmel Greyhounds led the North Central Panthers with a score of 17-14.

Coming out of the locker room, the Panthers received the ball first for the start of the second half of play. However, Carmel’s defense came out of the locker room ready to go as they made North Central kick a field goal, but the kick ended up going wide left! The kick was no good! With the Hounds getting the ball back, it’s the return of Zach White! White ran from 20 yards out to put the Hounds ahead by 10! As the third quarter came to a close, Carmel’s own Jordan Jones was able to punch it into the endzone to make the score 31-14!

The fourth quarter began and the Panthers are battling at an attempt to catch up to the Hounds, but it wasn’t until Zach White hammered in another touchdown that extended the lead by 24 points. As time expired, the Carmel Greyhounds were victorious over the North Central Panthers by a score of 38-14! The Hounds are back in action on Friday, October 2nd for homecoming against the mighty Ben Davis Giants! Tune in to 91.3 WHJE or whje.com for the call!
